Jakarta – The Nawakara Project MRT Jakarta (RO Jakarta) carried out fogging or fumigation in the work area of the MRT Jakarta Project covering the South Cipete sub-district, South Gandaria sub-district, and Kebayoran Baru sub-district, South Jakarta, Saturday (13/11). Fogging is done to prevent the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

The fogging that was carried out simultaneously in three sub-districts was led directly by the Head of the MRT Jakarta Project, Iskandar Zulkarnain, and was attended by stakeholders from the Cilandak Police and Koramil, the Kebayoran Baru Police and Koramil, the Head of the Kebayoran Baru Satpol PP, and a team from MRT Jakarta. As for the activity, Nawakara deployed two fogging machines to comb every resident's house.

Iskandar said the fogging was carried out to anticipate the spread of dengue fever in the residents around the Jakarta MRT Project work area. Fogging is a real action to prevent the spread of annual diseases that often hit when the rainy season arrives.

"Fogging activities for residents are a form of corporate social activity. Fogging around an existing environment affected by dengue disease is very necessary. Of course this is our social responsibility considering its location is very close to the Jakarta MRT Project work area," said Iskandar.

Apart from fogging, another thing that residents need to do is to participate in maintaining the cleanliness of their living environment. Public awareness is important to prevent dengue disease by cutting off the live circulation of the aedes aegypti mosquito, among others by using the 3M method, namely closing, draining, and burying.

"A total of about 355 families (KK) were fogging free through this activity. So far, four residents have been affected by dengue fever in this area," he said.
